Frequently Asked
Questions
1
Is Exercise Physiology the same as Physiotherapy?
Not quite. While both Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists support injury rehabilitation and chronic condition management, they bring different strengths to the process and often work collaboratively.
Physiotherapists are trained in a wide range of techniques, including manual therapy and acute injury care, often playing a key role in the early diagnosis and treatment of injuries.
Exercise Physiologists specialise in prescribing movement as medicine. We focus on structured, evidence-based exercise programs that support recovery, manage chronic conditions, and improve long-term physical function. Depending on the person and context, EPs can be involved in early, mid, or ongoing stages of care—helping clients build strength, restore capacity, and return confidently to what matters most to them.
2
Who is Exercise Physiology for?
Exercise Physiology is for everyone—people of all ages, genders, and abilities can benefit. However, our clinic is purposefully designed for women. We support women who want to feel strong, capable, and deeply connected to their bodies. Whether you're recovering from injury, managing a chronic condition, moving through menopause, or simply wanting to train in a way that honours your unique physiology—this space is for you. We work with women across all life stages, using evidence-based movement to build confidence, support healing, and promote long-term health.
3
How often will I need to see an Exercise Physiologist?
This depends on your goals, condition, and stage of life. Some women benefit from weekly sessions to build strength or manage a chronic condition, while others check in monthly for guidance, progression, and support. We’ll create a plan that works with your lifestyle and evolves with you—there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.
4
Can I claim private health?
Yes—if you have Exercise Physiology cover included in your private health insurance, you may be eligible to claim a portion of your session fee. Check with your provider to see what your plan includes, and we’ll provide everything you need to submit your claim.
